The tradition is back, by which I mean that it rained. It wasn't a wash-out kind of a rain (and we've sure had a couple of those), just a sort of on-again, off-again rain. So it really wasnt all that bad. We set all the food and eating tables up inside the barn, and the cooking grills just outside the door. And when it wasnt raining (which was mostly) we went outside. The good part was that it wasnt hot or humid, and there were lots less bees than there would have been. And the food was a lot closer to where the beer cooler is, too.
Still, it was a little too wet for camping, so this year we had no ghost stories around the campfire, but there was lots of fishing. The kids especially had a great time. Just ask Lorraine and Dave's daughter Heather McGuire, shown enjoying herself at left with her umbrella.
Again this year, Joe and Barbara's daughter Megan Teterus
took photos. But this time we have some from other folks as well, notably
Steve Sienkiewicz. There were no photos from Linda or I, as our camera developed
a bad case of "I-don'-wanna" when we tried to use it. Thanks to all who donated
their pictures. I think we've got all we'll need for this year, but there's
always next September...
